You're Not a Spectator. You're the 12th Player.

Every squad needs a 12th player who shows up ready — reads the game, backs up their teammates, and knows exactly what to do when things get tense.

That’s the standard we train fans to. We call it 12th Player Training, and it’s the core of everything The Strong Side does.

This isn't stadium security, and it isn't a self-defense class.

12th Player Training builds the skills that stops trouble before it starts — reading a room, setting a boundary, de-escalating a situation, stepping in safely for someone else.

It’s rooted in a global framework called Empowerment Self-Defense (ESD) — the same evidence-based methodology used by violence-prevention professionals in more than 70 countries. Adapted for football clubs and fandoms.

How We Deliver It

We don’t parachute in.
We are members of your community.
The Strong Side works inside your club, training certified local instructors — your Street Team — who deliver 12th Player Training as part of matchday culture all year long, not a one-off assembly. On- and off- season. On and off the pitch. From the Board Room to the locker room out, to the pitch, to the fans, to the community.

It’s Game Day Ready training for your everyday: built by ESD professionals, delivered by people who already know your hometown.

This is how The Strong Side plays
